You have come to the right place to find out how to book a campervan or motorhome to tour the Netherlands. You may want to stay within Holland but you are welcome to cross borders and explore Europe and use Amsterdam as a starting point.
Amsterdam is such a great place to start your road trip. If you are planning a holiday in Holland, stay on the outskirts of Amsterdam and travel in daily to explore this amazing city. The campsites are always near public transport.
There are small pop-top vw campers in Amsterdam that sleep 4 people. They are so economical and easy to drive that they have become one of the more popular campers we rent out. Choose this option if you are travelling with a group of close friends or family.
If you need more space or require the use of an onboard shower and wc, then the van conversion is perfect for two. A romantic road trip exploring Holland's beaches and flower fields is a must. Wake up early to freshly cooked breakfast in your home on wheels....only one of you has to get up!
The children love the larger 4 berth motorhomes where the double-bed above the cab is a great secret place to sneak away to. The larger double in the rear lets Mum and Dad have a bit of a rest after a busy day visiting Holland.
Spot the windmills, try on clogs, eat the world renowned cheese and explore the canals. All from the comfort of you camper. Stop and enjoy galleries and museums. Explore the National parks and don't forget the beaches. Holland is a diverse country with something to offer everybody. No, there are only the Amsterdam depots.
What extras are available when I rent a camper in Amsterdam?
These are the optional extras. You can save money by bringing your own bedding and towels. You can always buy extras if they work out cheaper than renting them. Check out the cost of outside chairs and tables.
Many companies include some of the items on the list, others don't. You will see when you go through the booking process which ones are included and which are not.

- USB Internet card - one time fee.
What is the insurance excess when renting a campervan in Holland?
McRent/Pure sets A Bond of EUR €1000.00. This is required at the rental counter. This is deducted from your credit card and refunded when you return the vehicle in satisfactory condition. Please note: Suppliers may charge a surcharge for payments made by either debit or credit cards as set out in the terms and conditions of your booking. Refer to terms and conditions for details.
This means that if any damage occurs to the vehicle then you have to pay for this up to a maximum of the security deposit.
You will need to have a credit card to cover the insurance excess. Check that the credit limit on your card is more than the bond/insurance excess amount.
How old do I have to be to rent a campervan in the Netherlands?
You have to be at least 23 years old and have held a licence for 3 years or longer.
Where should we go in the Netherlands?
Most first time visitors to the Netherlands follow the Route 1 which is a circular ring road right around the Netherlands and is approximately 1300kms long so allow at least 10days.
